Biografia

Cy Gavin è nato nel 1985 a Pittsburgh, vive e lavora nella Hudson River Valley di New York.
Le sue opere sono incluse, tra le altre, nelle seguenti collezioni museali: Baltimore Museum of Art; Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh; Studio Museum in Harlem, New York; Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa; Fondazione Memmo, Roma; Fondation Louis Vuitton, Parigi. Tra le mostre si annoverano: The Lure of the Dark: Contemporary Painters Conjure the Night, MASS MoCA, North Adams, MA (2018); Between the Waters, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York (2018); Museum of American Art, New York (2018); RELATIONS: Diaspora and Painting, Fondazione Phi for Contemporary Art, Montreal (2020); e la Whitney Biennal del 2022.
